After my previous research I wanted my Miss Havisham’s skin
base colour to represent the colour pallet of the bruising images I had found
and that of the Jenny Saville painting with the yellow pale skin and the blue
and purple undertones. In this lesson we had to practise and experiment with
the perfect base and colouring we wanted to use for our own interpretations of
Miss Havisham.
Lottie’s Feedback: The colouring was good a good deathly shade,
although I had used to much base foundation was very thick and you could see it
in the hair line, eye brows and around the mouth- apply less foundation and
blend into the more delicate areas such as around the mouth never apply
foundation onto the lips.
I liked the overall colour I had created using my Kryolan foundation
and eye pallet colours although I feel the effect of the blue tones added into
the eye area and around the face would create more depth in the skin base. I
will take on board what Lottie suggested and next time try and create a more
natural base.
