Top tips for ‘NO’ makeup situations:

Step 1: Create a natural looking base, using cream blushers are better if they are in a shower or bath (water situations) use water proof mascara. Any grease colours will stay in water so try and use grease eye gels (Bobbie brown eye gels good for this) fill in eyebrows and highlight and contour subtly with grease based products. No lipstick will instantly make someone look like there not wearing makeup (if you have a quick change over between scenes removed lipstick and put hair down)

Dirtying teeth:

Step 1: Make sure the tooth/ teeth are fully dry before applying the tooth enamel take a baby bud a wipe over the surface to fully dry and ask model not to close there mouth again. Don’t apply onto veneers or caps!

Step 2: using the Kryolan tooth enamel paint onto the tooth using a baby bud. Using the black will create a black out effect as if there are no teeth, gold and sliver teeth and the nicotine will create a dirty look along with the black. Wait until dry and the model can close their mouth.

Step 3: to remove take some spirit methylate and clean off the colour wipe with baby wipe to take the taste away.

Dirtying of the face:

Step 1: Think about the story behind the character, where have they been how long have they been there, why? Have they been sitting in the sun all day? Have they fallen over and cut themselves? Work with the wardrobe to see what they are wearing if there is a rip in the jeans colour the dirt around this whole area.

Step 2: using the grease based supra colour pallet create a building of colours around the face, could make the character look tiered for example. The Kryolan sprays will create a quick effect for making someone look dirty and these can also be smudged into more dense areas of colour as well, Getting the model to screw up there face and hold there breath for a few seconds will create lines and create a weathered aged effect.
No to forget the hands and all over areas that can be seen moisturise the overall area to allow the products to blend into the creases of the hands and fingers And apply the Kryolan spray similarly as to the face making sure the model bends their fingers to get into all the creases. Rub and blend further into the nails not leaving any white patches for the eye to see.

Step 3: you can then add further texture by adding fullers earth and dirt or blood depending on the situation.

Creating a Beard/stubble:

Step 1: using grease based paints and a stipple sponge mixing onto the backs of the hands stipple the product onto the face making sure you apply it right up into the hair line thinking about were the beard goes and down into the neck.
